How Our Volunteers Make a Difference

At BRASS, Inc. we are continuously amazed by the dedication and compassion of our volunteers. These remarkable individuals play a crucial role in our mission to support domestic violence survivors and their children. Today, we want to highlight how our volunteers collectively make a significant impact through their service.

How Our Volunteers Make a Difference

Our volunteers are the backbone of many of our initiatives, bringing energy, commitment, and compassion to every task. From wrapping presents during our Hope for the Holidays campaign to assisting with Shop & Share initiatives, their contributions are truly invaluable.

Hope for the Holidays

Our biggest holiday campaign is Hope for the Holidays. This initiative allows domestic violence survivors and their children to create holiday wish lists, which are then fulfilled by generous donors. The event not only spreads holiday cheer but also sends a powerful message to survivors that they are not alone and have the unwavering support of their community.

This year, with the help of our dedicated volunteers, we wrapped over 1,000 presents. Their efforts ensure that every child and adult in our care experiences the joy and magic of the holiday season. “We’ve literally got a team of about six or eight people over there right now wrapping, and this has just been going on for days. The outpouring of support from the community is truly great,” said Trish Desrosiers, President of BRASS, Inc.'s Board of Directors.

The Power of Community Involvement

Our volunteers help bridge the gap between BRASS, Inc. and the community. By participating in various events and initiatives, they help raise awareness about domestic violence and the resources available for survivors. Their involvement ensures that our staff are focused on essential services while still providing the necessary support and care for those in need.

Looking Ahead: Shop and Share 2025

As we celebrate the success of Hope for the Holidays, we are gearing up for our largest donation drive of the year, Shop and Share 2025. Scheduled for Saturday, February 8th, from 9 AM to 3 PM, at all Bowling Green Kroger locations, this event is critical in stocking our shelter’s food pantry with essential items.

We need your help! Volunteers are crucial to the success of Shop and Share. We are looking for individuals to:

  1. Pass out flyers to Kroger shoppers

  2. Accept donated items

If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please contact us at info@brassinc.org or call 270-781-9334. Your support makes a difference—let’s make this year’s drive the best one yet!

Join us in making a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve. Together, we can bring hope and essential support to survivors and their families. Thank you for your continued dedication and generosity.
